In 1917, the Hellenic Community of Oakland and its Vicinity was formally incorporated with the State of California.
Since this is our 100th year, it’s time to celebrate and recognize the transitions of our past:
The early 1900s where community members met in a rented hall in Oakland
The Church of the Assumption on Brush Street in the 1920s to late ‘50s
1960 through present day at Ascension Cathedral, here on Lincoln Avenue. (source pahh.org)
It is time we celebrate our FIRST 100 years!
